Heat treatment is a method used to alter the physical and/or chemical properties of a material. Tubular Services provides the following heat treatment servicers: normalizing and quenching and tempering. All of our equipment is supplied by Power Parts with induction heaters. Induction hardening is a form of heat treatment. It improves component durability and has proved to be very effective in extending the component fatigue life and wear resistance.
Depending on the A.P.I. grade, different heat treatments will be appropriate. For example, A.P.I. N80 can be normalized, normalized and tempered or quench and tempered. However, API L80 must be quench and tempered.
